Nortel / Avaya Ethernet Switching / Re: Extra Core Switch
« Last post by subnet11 on Today at 12:58:09 AM »
Hi Pat,

I have ers 4826 series. Based on my current design, is below workable ? Square VRRP design

site A
Core 1 (ers 5632) ---- Core 2 (ers 5632) ---->> VRRP / OSPF / IST etc ---> EDGE Switches connect via SMLT
|                              |
Site B
Core 3 (ers 4826) ---- Core 4 (ers 4826) ---->> VRRP / OSPF / IST etc----> EDGE Switches connect via SMLT

Is there a config sample available ? or can anyone help. I only see this scenario in the 8300 series

Hello everyone,
A big thank you for this sharing.
I managed to configure my Avaya 4850 toip switch (ADAC and LLDP) on Alcatel phones.
Congratulations and thank you again.
See you soon  :)

Hi Eric
I tried to reply to you but it's not working, if you still require a copy of the fan replacement that I did PM me again :)

In my example the "admin" user does not has privacy configured, therefore the "authNoPriv" makes more sense.

Good luck  ;)

Hello MatzeKS !

Thanks for your help: it works ! I missed to specify the right Snmp version for my admin v3 user. I tried to add the trap destination host using EDM via "SnmpV3/Target Table", using an existing default object from the params table (ie TparamV1).
In EDM, it seems that we have to create first a v3 entry in params table, and then the entry in target table with the new v3 params entry...Via CLI, the v3 params entry is automatically created executing the command:

snmp-server host A.B.C.D v3 authPriv admin

(we use DES as privacy protocol, so authPriv rather than authNoPriv).

Hi rodjeur68

you can try this on your VSP (VOSS Platform):

# ACLI:

conf t
snmp-server user admin sha secret-sha-password read-view root write-view root notify-view root

snmp-server user admin group initial

snmp-server group initial "" auth-no-priv read-view root write-view root notify-view root

# A.B.C.D is your Trap-Receiver
snmp-server host A.B.C.D v3 authNoPriv admin

Good luck

Hello,

I'm trying to configure SNMP trapping on VSP72xx for a few days, but without success...anyone can help me ?
For testing and generatin SNMP trap, I do shut/no shut on a ERS test switch interface which is directly connected on interface 1/40 from VSP. No trap is received on SNMP_mgmt_server, udp port 162...
Thanks for your help.

There is the matching configuration:

#show snmp-server
                 trap-sender : <SNMP_mgmt_server_ip> : <VSP_ip>
           force-trap-sender : TRUE
          force-iphdr-sender : TRUE
                     contact : test@mail.com
                    location : SITE
                        name : VSP1
          AuthenticationTrap : true
            LoginSuccessTrap : true

#show snmp-server host

Nortel / Avaya Ethernet Switching / Re: VSP and LACP on Aruba Controller?
« Last post by TankII on June 22, 2017, 11:52:24 AM »
We only have one controller (an aged 3200M), but when I was testing trunking, I configured a static trunk on the controller and an SLT on the 5698's I was testing with.
It worked, but was eventually abandoned in favor of pushing for a second controller - which has yet to be approved, five years later.

Nortel / Avaya Ethernet Switching / Re: Avaya 5600 VLAN static routes question

Thanks Michael, I have IP routing enabled as of now, there are several other VLANs that I have but only needed to route the new one up to the firewall.  Let me comb over the firewall
