Avaya SBCe NAT issues
« on: September 04, 2014, 11:17:42 PM »
Anyone using the Portwell version of the SBCe from Avaya.    I have had a bear of time getting this installed.   I had it inline with an IP office 9.x directly connected to the WAN port, then from there to my firewall.  It seems to be NAT'g correctly but im not get the proper response from the carrier, however if I take the firewall out of the picture and address it with the public IP expected by the SIP provider it works, IP Office registers and everything is happy.   Same thing if I take the SBC out the picture and run it through the firewall it works as well.   When i have them both in play it breaks.   I've turned off ALG(Palo Alto) among 20 other things.

Does anyone have this working in a dual NAT situation, where the SBC is NAT'g between its interface and the firewall is NAT'g to the Public IP??
I've been beating myself up with this.   I could address with a public and call it day but my customer has a firewall we sold them and im gonna have a hard time telling them they dont need it anymore.   By the way the SBCe (Sipera) sure seems buggy to me.
