Update fail: SIP1140e02.02.21.00 to SIP1140e03.00.65.00
« on: April 25, 2015, 11:13:06 AM »
Hello again everybody!

I've searched the internet looking for some information, but I didn't find any. The error appears with the error when you try to update without following the versions order. But as far as I saw, after SIP1140e02.02.21.00 version comes the SIP1140e03.00.65.00. And this version has no limitations regarding the installation on NTYS05xxxxxx models. I've also done try to instal from 0625C8A.bin without success.

So, could anyone here with knowledge, please help me?

Thank you!

Yes ulster111, but only to the 02.02.21.00 version. From this one to the 03.00.65.00 I didn't, and I still don't know why.

If you haven't downloaded it yet just go to the Avaya support website and click the download link.

Cheers!

My phone will not convert at all - not even to SIP1140e02.02.21.00.bin. is your 1140e a serial number of NTYSO5ACE6. they seem to be a problem. I am sitting at 0625C8Q and it will not budge. it reads the files OK including a system.prv file and a 1140e.cfg but the phone continues to boot as normal. the tftp log shows that the phone reads the files. How did you convert yours?

I have two. One is NTYS05AC and other is NTYS05BCE6. Both "updated" with the SIP1140e02.02.21.00.bin file. What I did was to manual insert TFTP data, not using DHCP and I have used my 1140e.cfg file with following code:

[FW]
DOWNLOAD_MODE AUTO
VERSION SIP1140e02.02.21.00
FILENAME SIP1140e02.02.21.00.bin
PROTOCOL TFTP
SERVER_IP 192.168.2.11
SECURITY_MODE 0

[DEVICE_CONFIG]
DOWNLOAD_MODE FORCED
VERSION 000200
FILENAME Users.dat

[DIALING_PLAN]
DOWNLOAD_MODE FORCED
VERSION 000002
FILENAME dialplan.txt

Then, my Users.dat file as following:

DNS_DOMAIN yourvoip.domain.com
SIP_DOMAIN1 yourvoip.domain.com
SERVER_IP1_1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx            # IP from your voip server
SERVER_PORT1_1 5060                       # This is normally the default
SERVER_RETRIES1 3
DEF_USER1 your_username
UPDATE_USERS YES

AUTOLOGIN_ENABLE USE_AUTOLOGIN_ID
AUTOLOGIN_ID_KEY01 your_username (AT) yourvoip.domain.com
AUTOLOGIN_PASSWD_KEY01 12121212          # Your voip service access password

VMAIL 5000
VMAIL_DELAY 300
DEF_LANG English
DEF_AUDIO_QUALITY High
ENABLE_UPDATE YES
ADMIN_PASSWORD 26567*738            # You can change this password to one more easy for you

# Settings to disable extended license
MAX_LOGINS 6
USB_HEADSET LOCK
EXP_MODULE_ENABLE NO
ENABLE_SERVICE_PACKAGE YES
IM_MODE DISABLED
AVAYA_AUTOMATIC_QoS NO

thanks again. what do you mean by "manual insert TFTP data, not using DHCP" . Does your phone with the serial number of NTYS05AC read NTYS05ACE6 or just NTYS05AC. Did the phone also look for a file called system.prv before it looked for 1140e.cfg. My phone looks for system.prv then reads 1140e.cfg but applys no information from the 1140e.cfg file. sorry i am requiring your help now rather than giving you help which was what you posted for lol..

Well, using DHCP didn't help me to transfer the file from TFPT server to my devices. So I just changed the configuration inside the device to connect on TFTP server using a reserved IP, that means that I have configured a free IP into the device and into the router, like 192.168.2.222. Then after, I rebooted the device and it started to look for the 1140e.cfg file. I didn't use the system.prv file, which it tries to download indeed, but at least for me it doesn't have any influence.

Maybe it could be a good idea to make a forced reboot after configuring the TFTP manually. Unplug power supply, press the keys 2 and UP arrow together and plug in again the power supply. It must start at the forced reboot mode which will look for a TFTP server or opens a configuring menu.
