Avaya deskphone 1230 ...bootc...
« on: August 13, 2015, 05:15:47 AM »
Hi guys and girls,

Noob here, I found a similar topic but it was from a few years ago and not really answered so will fire away.

We have been trying to set up some newly purchased Avaya 1230 deskphones, all we've had to do in the past is plug them into the network then they pick up DHCP settings and install the firmware etc but these wont do it. All we get on the phone screens is:

Start TFTP downloading

set update failed.

Then reboot and stay in this loop.

We have a BCM450 software version attached. I have tried manually putting the settings in but it just wont connect, all current phones are fine and nothing has changed on the system so seems a bit odd.

Any help or advice appreciated and let me know if you need any further info.

In case this helps anyone else, Our BCM450 was running an older firmware version than the new phones.

BCM450.R600.SU.System-022.201408-1.zip (aprox 93 MB)from the Avaya support website (support.avaya.com). This contains a SU (service update) that includes the latest UNISTIM (FW pack) for these sets. Once the SU is loaded onto the BCM then rebooting the handsets resolved the issues for me.
