Can someone enlighten me in how to ensure that 1140E handsets automatically reflect Greenwich meantime, as this has become evident since the clocks went back 1 hr.

Automatic DST is checked on the Avaya IP500 V2 (8.1) with a correct Time Source configured. All the Avaya 96XX handsets correctly show the time except the Nortel 1140E.

I can't speak to the Avaya IP Office but the legacy CS1000E and BCM would provide the time to the IP phones. As long as the CS1000E and BCM where configured for Daylight Saving Time you wouldn't have an issue.

Although there was that leap year issue a few years back;

Cheers!
