XFP - SFP+
« on: September 15, 2015, 12:30:43 AM »
Hello  All,

We currently have a 5632FD (SFP / XFP) switch, and we are planning a replacement of one of our 45xx series switch with  a 4850GTS PWR+. I see that this switch supports 10G via SFP+. So now my question :
Is it possible to use XFP at the 5632FD side and SFP+ at 4850GTS switch and still achieve the 10Gbps.

As long as both modules are 10Gig there should be no problem connecting them together.  We have 5632's using their XFP ports to connect to Brocade gear using SFP+'s at 10Gig no problem.

We are using XFP's on our 8600's and some of our Brocade FCX models.  All are connecting to 10 GB SFP+ modules in either servers or TurboIrons.  No issues!
