Vlacp over ISp
« on: April 02, 2016, 12:01:23 AM »
hello all,

I have a ers 5600 at the core and I want to connect  my edge switch via my Isp network. My isp has Cisco equipment at both sides.
Can my provider provide a L2 so I can just plug in both side? Or what can I advise my ISP

As long as your WAN provider can give you a layer 2 WAN link, you should be able to run VLACP over it just fine.  Just remember to change the MAC address for VLACP if it's using an intermediary network vs. direct connected.

For directly connected point-to-point links.  Use reserved multicast VLACP MAC 01-80-C2-00-00-0F

For end to end connections traversing intermediate networks.  Use default VLACP MAC 01-80-C2-00-11-00
