Shutdown schedule POE port
« on: July 13, 2019, 09:45:35 AM »
Hello, I have a Baystack 5520 48t pwr switch at home which is used for a basic network to connect computers, phones, and IOT. I have recently purchased a Unifi AP and would like to know if is possible to set up the port where the AP plugs in to a shut down turn on schedule so that the AP could be turned off at night. I believe this can be done in Cisco switches.
Thank you.

I believe the answer is NO, not on the switch, but you maybe able to turn the WIFI off at set times on the from the AP config, I know it can be done in WING -  (Symbol/Motorola/zebra/extreme )

If you have a linux box and your SNMP read/write stings set you can:

little script below to blip PoE (if that works just break it apart into 2 parts, 1 for off, 1 for on and cron it).

 if [ $# -eq 0 ] ; then
        echo "USAGE: $(basename $0) <switch-name> <unit#> <port#>"
       exit 1

# off
snmpset -v2c -c $snmpwritestring $switch$unit.$port i 2
echo "sleeping for 5sec..."
sleep 5

# on
snmpset -v2c -c $snmpwritestring $switch$unit.$port i 1
