Setting password for ERS 5520
« on: May 10, 2013, 03:02:26 PM »
I have enabled the stack console "local password" option on numerous 5520 stacks employing code 5.xx.xx.xx with no issues in gaining access to main menu using a password that I set/choose. Yet, when I configured two separate stacks, each running 6.xx.xx code and enabled settings mirroring the 5.xx.xx.xx code stacks, to include enabling the "local password" option for the stacks, the stack never allowed access to the main menu, always asking for a user id which I never enabled/set. I have read in NO documentation as to setting a "user id and password" at the main menu for gaining access to main menu on subsequent reentries, and  I discovered the user id/password prompt issue lay with enabling the "local password" under the 6.xx.xx code.

The default user ID's are "RW" for the read-write login and "RO" for the read-only login.  Give those a try and see if they work for you.  You can change the login's, but those are what you use if you don't define a new login name.
