Hi AN,

Basically, you need to do something similar below to enable IP routing:

Vlan create 2 name "Support" type port
Vlan members 2 2-4
Vlan create 3 name "Sales" type port
Vlan members 3 5-7

ip routing

interface vlan 2
ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0 2
interface vlan 3
ip address 10.1.2.1 255.255.255.0 3

To troubleshoot further use the following commands:

Show IP route
Show vlan ip (Vlan id)

Hi AN,

What version of software are you running, it looks like the version you are using does not support 'ip routing'?

I'm running software FW:5.3.0.3 SW:v5.4.0.009 and 'ip routing' works fine.

Hi,

It is FW:5.1.0.8   SW:v5.1.2.004 only on my switch.

Is it i have to  upgrade to FW:5.3.0.3 SW:v5.4.0.009 to work routing on this?

Kindly guide me to upgrade.

Thanks and regards,
AN

Hi AN,

I believe software release 5.2 introduced 'ip routing'?

You will need to raise a ticket with Avaya to get the relevant software.

Hi AN,

exactly as Flinstone mentioned the ERS 45xx series has no ip routing support with SW 5.1.X

Here is a summary of the routing features that are introduced with new SW releases:
SW 5.2  >> static local routing
SW 5.4  >> static non local routing, RIP

I heared the roumor that OSPF will also come in the future.
If you need the Routing feature, AVAYA is providing you the SW for free if you mention that.

Hi,

I belive OSPF is already available in SW: 5.4, but you need the advanced license to use?

@ aGeftwGER
the sold to number can your AVAYA contact provide for you.
In my case after 3 calls and 1 hour of waiting , I get my Sold To Number

@jemssky
of course is the ERS55xx series capable of routing.
It is also possible to check if the routing is enabled on the JDM

Hi,

Thanks for the support.

I have upgraded the software and firmware. Am able to create ip addresses and enable ip routing.

But am not able to ping the gateway from the host connected to port of the respective vlan.

Help me to trouble shoot it.

Thanks and regards,
AN
