reset of FCS errors counter on ERS5520 (soft 6.2.2)
« on: April 10, 2014, 06:23:36 AM »
hi ppl

I m looking for a way to reset to zero the ethernet errors counters of a port on my ERS 55xx switches.
As far as I know , the only way is recycle the power of the switch/stack .
I couldn't find anything even in CLI ..
When a defective net plug has been fixed it wud be cool to reset the ethernet counter error without reseting the entire stack of ERS (five units very often)... on my sense.
I'd be very thankfull to a lil help   :)
thanks for reading me

Hi netnabz and welcome to the forum,

Unfortunately, as far as I am aware the only way to reset the counters is indeed to reboot the the switch/stack :(

In EDM:

On the "Device Physical View" tab right click on the port you wish to reset counters on and select "Graph"

In the Window that opens (by default you'll be on the "Interface" tab) there is a "Clear Counters" button you can press.  Also, on the "Ethernet Errors" tab you also have the same button.

Is this what you're looking for?

Hi cap'tain
no that don't reset the counter ... it just resets the temporary counter that you get running when you graph a port but it don't reset the history of the given port.
thanks for the concern anyways   :)

Hi netnabz,

Did you try this :
enable
conf t
int f <your interfaces>
clear-stats

it works for me, all stats counters are back to zero.
