Reset Factory Default .... Advance License
« on: August 18, 2015, 05:04:52 PM »
Hi All,

We have a Avaya 5632 switch with Advance License. We would like to reset the switch factory default. The problem is that we do not have account with Avaya. Reset factory default would erase the advance license.
Is there a way that we can backup the license file from the file system of the Avaya 5632 switch?. or any other way I can reset the switch to factory default without erase the advance license?.

Thanks in advance.

If you have another ERS 5632 with a "blank" config, download it's binary config files and upload them on the new switch.  A config change shouldn't do anything to your license file.

You can use the "boot partial-default" command.  This should preserve the license file while resetting the configuration to factory default.
