RADIUS Authentication for ERS 8800and VSP 9000
« on: January 28, 2014, 12:14:16 AM »
Hi Everyone!

Hope all are doing well. I've been facing an issue of RADIUS AUTHENTICATION on my ERS 8800 and vsp 9000.

Problem Clarification:

The ERS 8800 and VSP 9000 is configured for radius authentication with the config commands mentioned below.

(config)#radius server host 10.2.2.33 key test123
(config)#radius cli-profile
(config)#radius sourceip-flag

After configuring the RADIUS SERVER, when i tried logging into the CLI of ERS 8800 with the radius credentials, i'm not able to get into cli but instead i'm being prompted again and again for login.

I've then configured my VSP 9000 with the same commands. Still the problem persists, where i dont see any error messages from the radius server.

I've taken a packet capture on the SWITCH port connecting to the RADIUS SERVER. I'm able to see the ACCESS ACCEPT packets coming from the SERVER in the pcap, but still unable to gain access to the CLI. The screen just prompts me to login again. There were error messages shown.

I'm attaching a packet capture as well. Is there anything to do with the SERVER or the SWITCHES?. If it is the SWITCH or SERVER, What else needs to be done? Help me out in this. I'm Stuck in it from the past 2 days.

Did you put in what your source IP is?  We use our CLIP address on our boxes, so the source is consistent from the 8600 to  the Radius Server.
The command list you show doesn't have the source IP listed.
