Quick question on SMLT normal type
« on: June 25, 2015, 10:11:38 AM »
I am using two VSP9k's and Avaya ERS 4800 edge switches. I have some SMLT stuck in normal type! Does anyone have a quick reference guide on troubleshooting type of problem? Thanks!

I don't have a pair of VSP9K's, but on 8600/8800's when a SMLT link shows normal mode when it should be in SMLT mode it's because one of the SMLT links is not functioning correctly.  That leaves it in non-SMLT capable state as only one link is functioning out of the required minimum of two.  Time to go through your port configurations to make sure they are exactly the same on both side.  Is your "smlt-sys-id" the same on both chassis?

yes, all configurations are the same on both VSP 9k's. I have switched to a new card and port on the VSP and now the port is working great! I have a couple more ports i need to trouble shoot and i will let everyone know how it turns out!
