Question SLPP
« on: February 06, 2017, 07:24:26 PM »
Goodday All,

One question : Is it advisable to enable slpp on all your uplink ports ? For e.g.
Core (SLPP enabled, e.g. port 20) to Edge (Slpp enabled, port 47).
From Edge (Slpp enable, port 46) daisy chained to Edge 2 ( Slpp enabled port 48)
From Edge 2 (Slpp enable, port 47) daisy chained to Edge 3 (Slpp enabled port 48)

Right now I see that whenever a loop is detected the core port gets disabled. I want to achieve for e.g. if a loop is detected on Edge 3, the uplink gets disabled.

The daisy chain approach is because there is no choice for now on the remote site to create seperate links for each switch....

We enable SLPP on a VLAN basis and enable SLPP-Guard on a per-port basis.
Works fine for us!
