Hello, I'm a long time lurker of these forums and I've finally decided to reach out for some help.

We've decided to go down the rabbit hole of QoS, and the amount of information for it is a bit overwhelming. As I'm self taught this is a bit of a learning curve. I've looked over the 30 odd posts of QoS here, and been reading over the many guides posted by nortel, avaya and cisco, and am still a bit lost.

Our situation:
We're beginning to implement VoIP on our premise and along side it QoS.  VoIP phones have dedicated vlans, one for each distribution. We have an Access layer comprised of nortel+baystack 450, Avaya 4500,4800,and 4900. We're in the middle of changing our 5632 distribution and 8600 Core layer from nortel to Cisco 9500 and 9600.

To simplify things I want to use auto QoS on all layers, having the layers trust their uplinks. As we are going to move towards cisco on our access layer eventually I'm not opting to use ADAC.

My main questions are:

On the 4000 series side, is enabling auto QoS as simple as entering in "qos agent aq-mode pure"

Is there anything I should consider or be cautious about with auto QoS between avaya/nortel 4000 series and Cisco 9000 series?

Thank you for any assistance! Let me know if any additional information is needed
