Qos agent queue-set command on a 45xx ?
« on: April 01, 2014, 05:08:24 AM »
Hi all,

Is there a max / default number of qos queues that can be set on an ERS45xx ?

I can change the number of queues on our 55xx switches, but the option doesn't appear on the 45xxs

We're running software 5.1.2.005

From the console :

Springfield(config)#sho qos agent
QoS NVRam Commit Delay: 10 seconds
QoS Queue Set: 4
QoS Buffering: Maximum
Springfield(config)#qos agent queue-set ?
                              ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Springfield(config)#qos agent queue-set

Thanks in advance

Bez

i believe the max queue is 8, recommended is 4.

however, 5.1 is very old.  you might want to upgrade to 5.7.

Thanks for the reply Paul, it seems that the max number of queues on a 45xx is 4.

I've kicked off a project to investigate getting the switches upgraded to a more recent version

Cheers

I believe it was in 5.2 or 5.3 the queue set memory allocation was upgraded to support 8 queue's.  I know it is now 8 queue's.
