Nortel 8600 Code Migration to Cisco VSS 4500X
« on: June 14, 2014, 01:46:51 PM »
Hi Guys,

I need help with migrating our Core Switch code from Nortel 8600 platform to Cisco 4500X VSS environment the part that i need serious help with is the ip rsmlt-addr section, I have an idea of what i need to do but i need validation that it's the right thing. Since VSS turns 2X switches into one am assuming that i don't need the primary and secondary IP anymore, all I have to do is configure my SVI on the core switch to be the IP rsmlt peer-addr ?

I will have more question on the filter acl but let me start small first..

Thank you all, this is an awesome forum..

Answer for you question is yes, you don't need configure primary and secondary ip addres. All you need it is configure svi on your VSS bundle. But you need configure portchanel with physical port on first node and second node.
