Nortel 5510 - 48T
« on: July 13, 2013, 09:08:23 AM »
Hi people, I have an Cisco ASA 5510 and in the inside interface I created a VLAN. So I have interface 2 and interface 2.1. I have it hooked up to cheap home switch. In the switch I have a window server. If I do not choose a VLAN in the nic settings in the server I can access the interface 2 gateway (that is OK), If I choose the VLAN 3 in the nic settings in the server I can access the Interface 2.1 Gateway (that is also good).

My problem is when I replace the cheap home switch for a Nortel 5510 - 48T. I suddenly are able to ONLY use the server without VLANs. How should I set the Nortel port where the ASA is plugged and also where the server is plugged so it doesnt stop me from using vlans?

Thanks
Nicolas

You need to configure those ports to "untagpvidonly" with 1 as pvid/defaultvlanid and add the extra vlan to those ports
