Nortel 5500 interface index
« on: December 06, 2013, 08:35:10 AM »
Hi,

I have several 5500 stacks which interface index's are out of synch.  Is there a way of re-syching them so there all in numerical order - i.e port 1/1 is index 1 and so on.....

Thanks,
Craig

The Interface ID's shouldn't be changing if you are on version 6 or higher code.  I only saw that issue with 3.X code.

Did you do a code upgrade recently and that's why your graphs aren't working?
The spacing between units is related to stacking of large capacity switches like 5698's.  Even though a 55XX is not going to be that high, with the combined code stream, it makes sense to keep the spacing far apart.
The 8600 went through that as well, when the 3.7 code came out and the code allocated 64 ports per slot.

Thanks, since writing this reply I did find out that the reason for this was the code upgrades I did from 5.0 to 6.1.
