New 8600/8800 Software v7.2.10
« on: August 01, 2013, 11:43:24 AM »
Time to warm up the TFTP server as we have new software for the 8600/8800's that are dear to us all.  Release v7.2.10 is available today for download.  It has some new features, or maybe more just enhancements including more IPv6 love and new SFP support.  There are also a fair list of code fixes in this version worth taking a look through.

My MS NLB (multicast) suddenly stopped working when both links to the TOR switch for the cluster were connected - one from each 8800.

The left 8800 could ping the NLB cluster IP, but the right 8800 couldn't.

The right 8800 had the following error:
CPU5 [07/25/13 11:31:38] MLT INFO smltProcLearnMacAddrMsg: Mac <NLB MAC> points to IST on remote peerremote port = 275167064, vlan = <NLB VLAN>, SmltId = 65535

The right 8800 was also insisting that the <NLB MAC> could only be learned from the IST and not the appropriate SMLT link.

Support's solution?

I'll try and schedule something in the next week or two and offer an update. The list of fixes is discouragingly long.

Two issues we ran into during an Avaya course on this version:

- OSPF couldn't be enabled in a CLIP interface through the CLI, it could through EDM
- VLACP was weird when entering the MAC address (though CLI). It would only accept the various MAC notations once, then refuse further entries. So once with xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx, once with xxxx.xxxx.xxxx, and so on. Reboot to solve.
