IPFIX on Avaya/Nortel 8600
« on: January 17, 2014, 06:00:39 AM »
Hi,

The customer I work on wants to enable IPFIX on their 8600 switches.

Can anyone confirm if it is supported on versions 7.1 and 5.1 (I believe it is)

Has anyone got any tips for setting it up?  Or any gotchas.

Thanks.

Also....is there any licensing implications to enable it?

It's easy to enable, and since you are running 7.X, you will not have a flow limit.
On 5.X, to get past the 300 flows/sec limit, you must be running MEZZ cards or 8695's.

It's part of the base license.

Thanks much appreciated.

Ok - we dont have Mezz running in the 5.x 8600's so that is a restriction.

If you have 8692's, but no MEZZ, and you have 'R' blades, you will collect up to 300 flows/sec.
You cannot collect flows on 'E' blades or with 8690/8691 CPU's.
