How to block a specific Multicast address on ERS
« on: December 18, 2017, 02:40:28 PM »
Hi Experts..
We stream IPTV through ERS switches using IGMP protocol. When an specific channel ip (239.100.100.100) is requested by a set top box, we are facing channel streaming issues all over the network. If we disconnect the set top box which is streaming 239.100.100.100, all the channels starts working fine.
Is there any way can I block this specific 239.100.100.100 multicast IP from the switch?

Prompt help is Highly  appreciated...

Thanks
Mohamed

Hi Mohamed,

maybe you can try the following commands below, the IGMP commands are for denying any client connected on port range 1-24 to join that particular MC group.
The QoS traffic-profile should (hopefully) drop any packets with source-ip 239.100.100.100.
The "qos traffic-profile" command is one single line  ;)

I'd recommend you to test this, I'm not sure if this is finally sufficient or if there is something that can be optimized.

Good luck
