Firmware recovery on 4548?
« on: January 21, 2016, 08:32:39 PM »
I have a 4548 that boots, but is not showing a console, poe works. Is there a way to somehow reflash or recover the firmware?

Hi Jahyde,

there are ways to reload the software, but they require access to the device, by either console, telnet/ssh or web interface. The latter obviously only work if you know the configuration of the unit...

As you indicate the switch boots, I think there is something wrong with your console cable or terminal client, or the serial port might be broken. Could you check your connection and settings?

If you do not have a native Nortel/Avaya serial cable, you can also use a procurve cable, or connect 2 cisco cables..
Kind regards,
