Extreme EMC
« on: June 26, 2018, 05:58:08 AM »

Has anyone any experience using Extreme Management Centre with Avaya ERS and VSP switches using it for bulk config changes and backup and restoring config?

We saw an early incarnation but it was very limited functionality with Avaya ERS and VSP hardware!!

Has it now matured and become a useful tool, better than COM;-)

XMC has currently version and was able since to backup and restore the config of ERS and VSP devices. I personally have never tested the bulk config changes function.
All needed function of COM Plus / EFO will be available in XMC in upcoming version 8.2, estimated July/August 2018.
Let's see ;)

Yes we are using ExMc base yo manage our VSP's and ERS switches.
Bulk commands across switches works really well.

For backups, it took a while to get my head around it, but we've got this working for most, except where we need to upgrade software versions.

It has been re-branded XMC, and with v813 can do just about everything with ERSs and VSPs.

XMC 8.2 is due out in a few weeks/months.   With that release will see all the COM/VPFM/AFO Fabric Management stuff rolled in.   Included Workflows and advance scripting options.  pretty slick.
