« on: October 02, 2013, 01:45:20 PM »
Hi guys . We have a ESR 4500 connected to Catalyst 4500e with trunk . Dhcp server is running on Catalyst and when I connect Avaya 9608 phone to ERS I can't get IP from DHCP server , only waiting LLDP message , aslo it get a proper vlan id . I am not sure is it LLDP issue or issue with dhcp messaging btw 2 diff switches ... Can you help me with please ? configs are attached .

Your question really involves the Avaya 9600 IP Phone.... you need to configure that properly or your network appropriately in order for everything to work.

I would suggest you start with a single VLAN and static the IP address, etc... once you have that working you can then looking to enable DHCP, then add the voice VLAN, etc... working your way along the path.

Good Luck!

For now I configured network setting on the phone and they are working fine but one better to know what is the solution .... [phone]---vl20[ERS4500]vl20----vl20[Cisco Catalyst]
all ports on the ERS 4500 is untagg all vlan member 20 (voice) only . port 48 connected to cisco catalyst port is sw mode access, sw access vlan 20 . DHCP server is on vl20 on the Catalyst. SO when I connect ip phone 9608 to any port of the ERS I will be in vlan 20 . I changed vlan id on the phone to 20 -waiting LLDP, to 0 waiting lldp , 802.1q to off to on waiting lldp :( .. on some of the changes I saw phone was waiting ip from dhcp server but it goes till 150 sec and then reboot itself . If I connect PC to port of ERS I get IP at once from vlan 20 ip pool.. why this stupid phone can not ??  How should I change vlanid or another settings on the ipphone network settings if I have only voice vlan on that ERS 4500 and DHCP pool is on Cisco Catalyst working as router for different vlans ? if I turn off LLDP in the 46xxxxconfig.txt and the load to phone will it help?
