ERS 56xx VLAN IP issue?
« on: February 16, 2015, 11:25:56 AM »
Hello,

I have having a strange issue with a ERS 56xx series stack running v6.3.1.038. I have 7 VLAN's with routing enabled and they have been working perfectly for quite some time. The issue I have is when adding a new layer 3 VLAN. I assign the IP and have active VLAN members with matching subnets but the IP will not come up?

I can ping the IP from the switch itself and the route is showing active in the routing table. I cannot ping the IP from the new VLAN or any of the other VLANs. I have set this up many times before but have not had this issue.

I believe I read somewhere that this can happen and the only remedy is to reboot the switch/stack. Is this the only option to correct the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Scott

Is the new VLAN configured on all needed Uplinks ?

In the moment you configure an IP Interface on a VLAN it should be reachable.
I would try to delete the IP Interface and add it again.
Is it a single RTS56xx, switchlsuter or stack.

If you share the config of that VLAn and the IP Interface, I can take a look at it.

Cheers
