ERS 5500 how to disable unknown unicast flooding
« on: February 04, 2016, 04:10:46 PM »

how can I disable unknown-unicast flooding on a few specific ports of the 5520-48T-PWR switch (latest 6.3.5 firmware)?  The QoS manual mentions a system classifier element variable:

Specifies the Filter on unknown unicast destination address. This parameter is applicable on both ERS 5500 and ERS 5600 Series switches.

but I don't have experience with these advanced QoS rules yet (and don't want to accidentally block too much on a production network) - what are the CLI commands to cause egress traffic on switch ports 31-36 matching "unknown-ucast" system classifier element to be dropped?  I'm reading the manual and trying to understand it, but it seems fairly complex and needs a few commands, not as easy as on a Cisco:
Switch(config-if)# switchport block unicast
