ERS 4850 / BootROM - Agent Code Checksum Failed
« on: July 15, 2016, 02:34:19 AM »
I can't make an upgrade via TFTP, I need to choose the interface: A,B or P. I tried the A, B, then P. The connection with my TFTP server could not be established. My notebook is directly connected to port1/1
Code: [Select]
Enter Local  IP Address  [ 10.00.00.01 ]:
Enter Server IP Address  [ 10.00.00.02 ]:
Enter Local  IP Address  [ 10.00.00.01 ]:
Enter Subnet Mask        [ 255.255.255.0 ]: 255.0.0.0
Enter Port (fp#,A,B;fp#P=poeOn) [ <1> ]: A
Wait...
TFTP: Sending Open: .a
recv garbage: unit=0, port=0, len=44
recv garbage: unit=0, port=0, len=44
recv garbage: unit=0, port=0, len=44a

---

I tried via USB stick (FAT32), it works, but after reboot I see the same error "Agent Code Checksum Failed". Tried with 2 versions: 5.8.3 and 5.9.3. Example output:
Code: [Select]
Select [ <agent> ]: 1

1 - Download via TFTP
2 - Download via USB Flash

Select [ <tftp> ]: 2
Enter Filename [  ]: 4000_583017s.img

Please try to load the Diag first: 4000_58001_diag.bin, then you should be able to load the newer code which comes with this Diag. You have Diag v5.6.2.1 running, which is much to old to load newer codes.

Good luck

Yes, thx!

BTW, in BootROM I could use my USB stick - this way I made an upgrade
In BOSS I was unable to see my USB stick and to copy the files (like config) into or from USB stick.

Code: [Select]
[code]usb-host-port enable
[/code]
Code: [Select]
SW(config)#show usb-files
USB file list - Stand-alone
--------------------------------------------------
Listing Directory USB_BULK:

Code: [Select]
SW(config)#show usb-?
usb-files
usb-host-port

SW(config)#show usb-host-port
USB Host Port Info - Stand-alone Enabled
--------------------------------------------------
    Vendor Info            : General
Product ID             : USB Flash Disk
    Product Revision       : 1100
    Number of Blocks       : 15669248
    Bytes per Block        : 512
    Total Capacity         : 8022654976

Why?

I had the same behavior with the ERS-4800 when I plugged the USB-Stick after the 4800 was booted.
In most of all cases it helped to insert the stick before you boot up.
I know this is not really helpful under "normal conditions", when your 4800 is up and running in production environment  ;)
I never saw this behavior with same type of USB-Stick on ERS-4900/-5900.

Nope, I tried it, too. I restarted even the ASW (there was default config) - after the reboot, USB stick not visible.
Avaya made my week... Really...
