Confused 5520 with IP Office script ADAC?
« on: November 11, 2016, 11:08:36 PM »
I have a network with some scattered 5520 switches, and a few mixed other brands (to be remedied as we get funds)..... Now we got the wild idea to deploy an IP Office, so I am trying to do some auto deployment so I dont have to set static VLANs for phones/PCs.

I started with a basically default 5520 2 unit stack, it only had VLAN 1 when I started, I ran the IP Office script, and put my IP office on port 1, router on port 2, tried to go with most of the default settings in the script, set my router to hand out DHCP on vlan 42.... Anyways, some phones are auto provisioning fine, others are not, they are grabbing IPs from the wrong VLAN.. etc.

My question is, is the IP Office script supposed to do any ADAC setup, or is it all just LLDP?

Well, I guess the script does not, I had to enable ADAC in LLDP mode to get the 9608 phones to auto-config, below is most of what I used, which I think covers what the IP Office script does, along with some ADAC settings.

I am trying to figure out how to best configure my 3rd non-stacked switch in IDF2 to blend in with this scenario, I guess I just setup the vlan with no routing, and enable the LLDP/ADAC settings? What should I use for the adac call-server-port etc???????

if anyone has any tips to smooth these out, let me know (forum wouldnt let me use code tags, said they were links).

I don't see an IP address assigned to the Data VLAN.  Can I assume port 1/48 is the uplink port to a router handling that VLAN and DHCP pool?  If so, do you have the correct DHCP option to tell the phones to us the Voice VLAN?
I don't see any DHCP relay statements for the 42 Voice VLAN.
Quick perusal.

Correct, my main router is sending tagged traffic in voice VLAN and directly handing out dhcp on that subnet.

Having some trouble with the stupid PC console for IP Office, it does not like any sort of latency at all, and it crashes if its not on the same subnet as IP Office. For some reason I was seeing 2~3ms ping latency pinging the IP Office @ 192.168.42.1 from my PC on 10.x.x.x data vlan, but from the same PC if I ping the interface of Nortel VLAN 42 @ 192.168.42.254, it gets solid 1ms latency. Is the IP office lagging on response, or is it network latency?
