Hi all,

Looking to reconfigure a stack of ERS 3524 (and one 3526) switches. Currently switches are flat and we are looking to split out to two VLANs (voice + data). PC's to be connected via phones, all via Windows DHCP.

I took a config backup, then I executed run ipoffice verbose - and used the script to configure 2 VLANs;
60 for voice - and 42 for data - I set call server to the IP office LAN1 ip, I set the internet router to the default gateway/firewall of The ip office script set a management IP of I then enabled dhcp relay. Ensured routing was up, and ensured option 242 set on both data and voice scopes on the server.

Phones would boot into VLAN 60 but never get an IP from DHCP. I found I was unable to ping between VLANS's and unable to ping from router to the .60 VLAN. Does it sound like I've missed something here? Maybe the automatic scripts isn't doing what I need it to and should manually configure. I had the following routes setup;
On the router (, the following route;
S [1/0] via

Any advice here much appreciated....

Hi Fink,

maybe one hint - pls make sure that ip routing is enabled. Per default this is not.
Finally to get an IP-Subnet for these vlans active in routing table minimum one accessport in that vlan(s) needs to be active.

conf t
ip routing

Good luck

If that will not help I guess it make sense to post/attach your running-config here

Can you post the configuration, or at least the following:

- show run module vlan
- show run module L3
- show run module dhcp-relay
Kind regards,

Hi folks, thanks for the replies. I managed to get this up and running last night by running through the config manually rather than using the script. I think the initial issue may have been a default gateway problem on the data vlan.
However, at the last minute I was made aware of a separate stand alone switch not connected to the stack, but via fibe uplink in another office! I configured this switch in the same manner, and seem to have dhcp - phones and PC's are booting in the correct VLAN but I did have some issues pinging from the switch itself. I'm wondering are there any considerations in extending the VLAN's out to the stand alone? I haven't yet had a chance to read through the docs on this. Obviously I will do, but any pointers appreciated... thanks again....
