Any use for old 8600/8800s?
« on: May 30, 2016, 07:01:42 AM »
Just wondering...

We're in the process of replacing 26x ERS8600/8800 with VSP8200s. Does anyone know of any use for them or an avenue of selling parts? Up to date hardware with R and RS modules, 8692 w/SuperMezz og 8895 etc. - all of them running SPB.
Best regards,

There is always eBay, but otherwise could you use them as a trade-in with Avaya on the newer gear?  I took home an 8600 when it was decommissioned here.  Using the old v5 code as the CPU can't do SPB.

Year have installed many networks with ERS8k or Passport how it was originally called.
It is the end of an era , but I think you still can use it as nice table or fridge :)

I am always happy when I can find a school that needs some lab equipment and they are happy to get some old switches for there students.
Its always the networks fault!
