ACL performence for ERS/VSP
« on: November 05, 2013, 09:40:48 AM »
Hello!
It is possible to find in documentation forwarding performance for ERS and VSP switches but Iíve never seen performance for them with using of ACL. Does ERS/VSP make filtering by ASIC and ACL doesnít affect performance? Or it is done by processor and performance with using of ACL less then forwarding performence?

Do somebody know answer? Thank you in advance!

to the best of my knowledge QoS and ACLs functions are all performed in hardware at wirespeed.

Hi sergey_ta,

I believe ACLs are done in the hardware!

Check out this link from Michael:
