5530 dead again
« on: January 01, 2016, 03:53:22 PM »
Avaya sent me a new 5530 to replace my old dead one. Configured and set it aside a week ago. Plugged it in today to hook everything up, and it starts power-cycling. Got into diagnostic and ran post tests and got this. Am I calling them again or is there a way back from this?

Sorry, I don't see what your diagnostics said.  But if it reports a hardware issue it's an RMA.  Getting a bad RMA unit isn't common, but it happens occasionally.  About a year ago did an RMA on a dead switch.  Put the replacement unit in and 16 hours later it's power supply burned and the RMA unit wouldn't even boot.  So it happens.

You'd better call Avaya and tell the details to see what's wrong with 5530. If not make everything clear, the bug may happen again and again.

That's a RAM issue....

You'll have to contact Avaya again to get it swapped..

Fortunately this issue is not the same as the last issue, unfortunately though it is dead. I've contacted avaya, will have a new one tomorrow. Hopefully it fares better.
