Do you have any logging or syslog info from the switch?

for physical issues like that I usually just make a ticket with Avaya. I trust you have support?

There can be a number of reasons why the switch reboots:
* bug causing a crash
* corrupt image causing a boot loop
* faulty hardware causing a crash.

Unplug the the switch, remove all cabling and GBIC's and boot the switch again. If possible attach a pc/laptop to the serial port and capture the output. If the switch reboots, there will be a good chance it will echo the reason to the screen.

You can also interrupt the boot process (CTRL-C as soon as the diagnostics are loaded) and try to reset the config or try to upload the images again.

Good luck

I've seen this problem before and it was just by dumb luck I happen to be on the console port when it happened.  The issue ended up being a defective memory module in the switch.

Hi Ram004,

If it is a hardware issue you should be able to send back to Avaya and get a replacement as per the lifetime warranty?

He should. if it was purchased before 2009 you can ship and replace it.
after 2009 its Advance replacement.

just a warning.  You need to be a registered customer. With a support contract.
if you aren't under support any more, you need to be able to show proof of purchase.
