2 Carriers same VLAN what i can do?
« on: July 03, 2013, 04:45:31 PM »
Hi guys,

i'm working with VSP7k and i had the follow trouble to resolv:
  • How define two differents I-SID to a same VLAN to carrier?
  • This is possible using a new instance of SPBM or have another option?
I'm looking for answers but my head is crashing with this.
Thanks

As I understood it, SPB should be able to take care of this scenario.  The details though I would not know as I don't have any SPB systems to play with.   :(  Otherwise good old Q-in-Q tagging I would think should do the trick.  I don't know if the VSP7000 does Q-in-Q tagging (yet?).  I wish they would give in and put that ability in to their switches.

The VLAN-Id per VRF must be unique, so if you need same VLAN-Id on same box you have to create an additional VRF for that. I guess that is currently not possible on this platform.

You can have one instance of SPBM. But I have no idea why a VLAN-Id is important to assign to a dedicated carrier. Worst case you can use untagged connection between your carrier and your 7k, so you are free to assign any free Vlan on your 7k to your I-SID.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
