WS5100 - Stops accecpting connections
« on: February 03, 2015, 06:17:48 AM »
Hi All
I have the ws5100 at firmware Version 3.3.5.0-002R, The unit works fine for about 10 days then starts to refuses connections. I can still access it via the GUI and telnet, I have to restart the unit which fails over to the backup then 15 mins later if fails back again and it works fine for another 10 days or so,
The nework is not big, there are only 8 AP's and 4 wlans, one of which is visitor access, 3 of them use wpa/wpa2-tkip and one that uses wep and has an access control list.

I have factory defaulted the switch, and re created the config from scratch, but it still does the same,

I'm wondering if a wipe of the dom and clean install of the firmware, then set it up again, or create a ssh secure shell script to login and run the reload command ? out of offive hours, ( not the best soloution )

Any help or advice if anyone has a script that logs in a nd runs the reload command could you share the config to allow this to happen, I can get the ssh secure shell app to launch then I'm stuck, tried a few things but cant get it too load  ::)

Any help please  :)

Hi
Try looking at the log files from the related time
see what you can find there.

what is before/after this line?

look for this phrase in the log:
countermeasures
also put the log level as detailed as possible.. (debug )

as far as I know it is activated by default and the only way to turn it off is from CLI.
had problems with it myself on WS5100.
so I am not sure why you say no counter measures, micfix applied to symbol/motrola devices

here is my log:
Local0.Warning   16.190.1.1   <EVENTS> Mobile Unit (MU_3) with MAC address 00:02:6F:4D:EA:31 was disassociated. [Reason Code 14]
Local0.Warning   16.190.1.1   <EVENTS> Mobile Unit (MU_7) with MAC address 00:02:6F:55:15:04 was disassociated. [Reason Code 14]
Local0.Warning   16.190.1.1   <EVENTS> Began WPA counter-measures for WLAN Golom (ESS Mx9003)

Please check ...

the error code I get is 15 not 14, the micfix was a patch to be applied to some older symbol devices, where the old drivers for the MC range ( with the B/G cards in ) had so old network transport stuff in, so it kept telling the switch I here i'm here ( bit like netbui ) and this threw the switch into counter measures.
