WiNG4 - reason code 2
« on: December 19, 2013, 07:51:42 PM »
Can anyone fully explain the error code:

 Dec 19 22:45:55 2013: %CC-6-STATIONUNASSOC: Station 14-10-9F-DB-58-A9 un-associated from radio 66 wlan 1 : datapath requested deauthentication (reason code 2)

I'm seeing this a lot in the logs.  Is this client initiated?

It's not in the list I published a few years back...

don't your APs support WING5 ? WING4 starts being quite old, maybe some standard miunderstanding if your clients drivers are old as well !

This definition for Wing 5.x seems like it might fit the situation, but since you are Wing 4 don't bet on it:

5 REASON CODE : 2 (Previous auth not valid)
5.1  Wlan disabled
Wireless client associated WLAN is disabled now, this requires disassociation of
all wireless clients on the WLAN.
5.2  Configuration change
WLAN configuration is changed; configuration change can be in Wlan, Wlan QoS
policy or AAA policy. This requires disassociation of all wireless clients on the
WLAN.
Configuration change includes,
-Wlan client-access configuration change
-Wlan ssid configuration change
-Wlan vlan configuration change
-Wlan bridging mode configuration change
-Max-firewall-sessions configuration change
-Wlan broadcast ssid configuration change
-Wlan answer-broadcast-probes configuration change
-Wlan client-to-client communication configuration change
-Wlan security configuration change (authentication type, encryption
type, captive portal enforcement, wpa/wpa2 related configuration,
wep64/wep128 key configuration, Kerberos realm/password/server,
IEEE 802.11w - Protected Management Frame)
-Wlan QoS policy configuration change
-Wlan QoS WMM configuration change
-Wlan radio configuration change(Wlan to bss mapping onradio, wlan
supported data-rate, radio antenna mode, radio dynamic-chain-selection, radio antenna diversity)
-Radio shutdown in configuration
-Radio dtim period configuration change
-Radio beacon interval configuration change
-Radio 11n configuration change(Reduced Interframe Spacing (RIFS)
parameters, Aggregate MAC Service Data Unit (A-MSDU) parameters,
Aggregate MAC Protocol Data Unit (A-MPDU) parameters)
-Radio RTS threshold configuration change
-Radio short preamble configuration change
-Radio guard interval configuration change
-Radio data-rates configuration change
-Radio stbc configuration change
-Radio channel configuration change
-Radio QoS configuration change
-Radio sniffer-redirect configuration change
-Radio ocs configuration change
-Radio ERP protection configuration change
-Radio HT protection configuration change
5.3  Country-code removed / Country-code changed
Either country-code configured on AP is removed or changedto other country
code.
5.4  Client blacklisted by WIPS
Associated wireless client is blacklisted by WIPS (Wireless Intrusion Prevention
System). Disassociate the client from the wlan.
5.5  Administrator initiated delete on wlan
Administrator removed all the associated clients on a wlan.
5.6  Administrator initiated deauth
Administrator removed the wireless client association.
5.7  Radar Detected
Radar signal detected, start moving to future channel for radio. This requires
disassociation of all wireless clients in this radio.
5.8  Kerberos ticket expired
Wireless client was using Kerberos authentication. Kerberos ticket lifetime is
expired for this client. Access point to deauth and remove the wireless client.
5.9  Session timeout
Wireless client’s current session timed out.
