WiNG 5.8 - WLAN Encryption
« on: September 15, 2015, 02:49:27 AM »
Hello

On my old WiNG 5.4 system I have both encryption options selected:

- WPA/WPA2-TKIP
- WPA2-CCMP

but on new WiNG 5.8 system I am only able to select one of the options.

Does anyone know why?

Thank you
firmdale

For the time being I have created 2 WLANs with different encryption settings.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
  WLAN                     SSID         CLIENTS            RADIOS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Events-TKIP-CCMP      Events         0                   2
Events-WPA2-CCMP    Events          0                   2

I guess this is something to do with updates to the 802.11 standards, which means that TKIP-CCMP is no longer a valid option.

This is because of Wi-Fi alliance compliance requirements.

Can you try to set it on the cli?

on the wlan profile:

encryption-type tkip-ccmp

commit write mem

Yes, thanks wings, I meant Wi-Fi Alliance, not IEEE standards.
