RFS6000 vlan trunk issues?
« on: December 18, 2014, 04:36:23 PM »
Anyone here experience issues with vlan trunking directly to a server?

I was trying to hang a linux based server off my RFS controller.. I configured GE8 as a trunk carrying a couple vlans..

On my linux OS i configured the proper subinterfaces, but couldn't reach the RFS controller virtual interaces via ping...

Does the RFS need to be rebooted after ports are changed from access too trunk?

There's no reboot necessary to change the trunking... you could try your configuration with a switch to validate that your server configuration is good. Where you able to at least see the MAC/FDB entries in the respective VLANs.

Good Luck!
