RFS4000 & AP5131
« on: December 09, 2013, 09:10:48 AM »
Hi All,

First I would like to say that this forum looks great, you looks so good!
I'm French so you will understand my English sooo bad.  ;D
I work in a trašability company, we sell, barcode reader, printers, wireless infrastructure...

I've got a problem with a client, he already had AP5131 (x12) and roaming problem.
So I lent my RFS6000 to show him its benefits! And he like it.

I sent a new RFS4000 (new composants inside).So old versions of Wing4 doesn't work, only the 4.4.2.
I downgrade on 4.4.2 : OK
I put licences on it (x12) : OK
But only x6 AP5131 can be attached on the RFS...

In the documentation I can see that the RFS4000 can only adopt 6 Adaptive AP... And Motorola support say to me the same thing.

But my question is: Is there a solution to do that despite this restriction?

Some commandes on CLI:

Can I force AP5131 to use the reste of AAP licences and to be adopted by the controleur?

I hope my english was understandable... :-X

Have a good day

Hi,

thats normal, you can have only up to 6x APs (AP or AAPs) adopted on RFS4K on any 4.x firmware.
You can add more licenses, since they are the same for 4.x and 5.x.

I would really suggest you thinking about exchanging AP5131s, not the best AP Moto ever made.

Attention the RF4000 whit WING 5 don't support AP5131. in this scenario you have three hypothesis

1- change AP for AP6XX our AP6XXX+ add a AAP licence to RF4000

2- Add another  rfs4000 put the two in cluster

3- check the AP5131 if is a independent ap and  put all in standard AP mode.
