Hello,

I have a question, how to work an AP in AAP mode ?
Because for exemple on RFS4000 it's not possible to connect 6 AP's physicaly on the controler.

Thanks a lot for your collaboration.

Cheers,

David

rfs4000  supporting up to 36 access points

An adaptive AP (AAP) is an AP-5131 Access Point that can adopt like an AP300 (Layer 3). The management of an AAP is
conducted by the switch, once the Access Point connects to a Motorola Solutions RFS6000 or RFS7000 model switch and
receives its AAP configuration.

what wing version do you have ?  To support AAP functionality, a switch must be running firmware version 1.1 and higher.

For your device i have 4.3.3.0/4.3.4.0/4.4.0.0/ and Wing 5.4.4 firmware if you need.

Hello,

For this moment I work with WING 5.5. Ok but to connect an AAP, I need to connect physically my AP to my RFS4000 ? Or if my RFS4000 is connected to an POE Switch it's good ?

Thanks.

David

Hello!  You can connect your AP through any switch + PoE like (Ap-Psbias-1-afr)  or
PoE switch

But if you will use PoE switch,  Power to the AP must be at least 13W  (length of wire - loss)

Nowadays, AP license is exactly the same as AAP license.

Hello n0ngf and all,

I've read your posted question: Motorola rfs 7010 compatible with Brocade ap-650 ?
Then you said you already fixed it.

I'm not sure your Motorola RFS 7010 now can manage or control Brocade AP 650 or not. If yes, would you please to share some suggestion how to configure the RFS 7010.

Thanks!
