Motorola WiFi solution issues
« on: March 27, 2015, 05:17:14 AM »
Good morning,

I have the following setup that should be installed on the premise of one of my clients.

1 x Motorola RFS6000 Controller with Wing 5.2 OS
13 x AP 6521
4 x AP 621 (on the APs case  is written 6521 instead of 621 – this is a little bit confussing)
External antennas, power injectors.

The issue I encounter is the following:
9 x AP 6521 are working fine
4 x AP 621 and 4 x AP 6521 have invalid SKU error and don’t provide any ssid in the air – the radio is off.

Did someone experienced this issue before?

Thank you,

Where did you buy your hardware from? It seems that some of the APs have the incorrect country SKU

I was asked just to install them. I don't know where my customer bought them, anyway the  APs contract are already expired. Is there anything I can do to set the right country sku on those APs?

Thanks,

Nothing you can do if that is the case, but first let us verify. On each and every AP check the label on the back. There will be a part number which is something like 6521-0030-xx where xx is the country code. Do they all match each other and the Rfs?

Well, the controller is WR, and some of the APs are WR some are EU. Those who are EU are not working (I had a single one working, with 5.4 firmware on it - but I cannot download the firmware, neither I can set it to boot from it permanently, it always come to secondary boot choice automatic). Those WR, are working fine.

Thanks,

Ok, so now you know the problem. Solution is for the customer to buy more WR access points.
