Guest WiFi Captive Portal Web Page - Logo URL syntax?
« on: February 14, 2014, 06:30:41 AM »
Hi, Wondered if anyone could help me.

I ahve a working Guest Wifi setup in a centralised controller setup across a Cluster of RFS7000's. I can authenticate fine but the most annoying thing is I cannot get my company Logos to appear on the Guest Welcome page!

The Help says use the Browse button but I'm on WiNG 5.4.4 and there is no Browse button just the field to enter the Logo URL.

The captive portal server is set to a non-resolvable DNS value as advised of "guest.xxx" where xxx is my company name. The xxx_logo.jpg files are in the root flash of both controllers and I have tried various formulations of a URL but they never load.

http://guest.xxx:880/xxx_logo.jpg [nofollow] is my current effort but I have tried just the name of the image, http://guest.xxx/xxx_logo.jpg [nofollow] etc but no joy. Any advice?

Thanks

I'm not sure if this will help you because I am not using that method (internal).  I did start that way but switched to "advanced".  At any rate, even when I was using that method, the files were stored under /flash:/hotspot/Captive-RFS for me.  Yours may be different, but if you look under the Operations tab at your controller, File Management, you should see the structure of the files.  Look for the files "agreement.html", "fail.html", "login.html" and "welcome.html".  Put your logo where these files are.  You should then be able to put the filename of the logo in the box with no path or anything.

Later you can switch from internal to advanced mode and edit these files by hand, that's what I did.  There's probably a better way though.

 :)

You Sir are a star! Worked perfectly - my fault for not having a deeper look around and noticing the html files were in a sub-folder and trying as you said. Just a simple Guest WiFi setup so the standard pages with our own Logo and text actually looks quite professional I think.

Many Thanks!
