With the soon-to-be-released WiNG 5.7 YES this will be possible!

OEM SKU SUPPORT
Transition image for Brocade and Extreme SKUs

Adds transition image that can be loaded on Brocade or Extreme branded platforms and allow loading standard/MSI image. Please refer to the OEM SKU transition/conversion bulletin for additional details.

Except that the 5181 is really old and has not been supported for a long time. So you won't be able to it with that setup...

Hi McNulty,

Thanks for replying, I was just reading the PMB mentioning this, also you are right, the 5181 is too old and not supported.

The client is still running WiNG 4, which is why we're wondering if it'll work. We don't have any Brocade APs to try it.

I was also reading this thread -> https://forums.networkinfrastructure.info/motorola-wireless-lan-switches/rfs-7010 which made me think it does work.

Hi,

May I know when the WiNG 5.7 OEM Conversion image is ready to download? I've contacted to Zebra/Motorola, but there's no any info provided yet.

Thanks!
