AP8232 - totally locked out - Hard reset?
« on: October 28, 2014, 09:57:30 AM »
Hello,  need a little assistance please.  I have a AP8232 that I received at my office to install.  We had this online at our other office and it was connected to a RFS4000 using the RSF for DHCP and POE for the device.   I tried to get into the AP via ethernet connected to a network that has DHCP in our office, but it is not coming up.  So I am trying to get into the Ap unit to reset it.   I have tried direct connection from a NIC port to the AP g1 and then g2 with the original IP as well as the hex converted 169.254.106.128 address. Neither allow me to access the AP.   I cannot get in via wifi, as it cannot allocate an ip address. I tried to connect via a cisco and extreme serial cables to the console, but I am not 100% sure of the settings...

Is there an app that I an use to find this on my network?   Also is there a way to hard reset this device if I cannot get into it?

Any suggestions / advice would be highly appreciated.

connect via console (baud rate 19200, rest keep on defaults), use login "reset" and password "FactoryDefault" to reset it to defaults. No hard reset is possible.

I have noticed that some of the new APs are using baud rate of 115200.
