AP-7131n basic set-up
« on: July 22, 2015, 03:26:27 PM »
Team,
I need your help, please.
I have AP-7131N unit that i need to set-up as a standard home Wi-Fi router. Here is my setup:
cable modem connected to the GE2 port (port set to DHCP),
gigabit switch connected to GE1 port via PoE (port set to static with DHCP server enabled),
AP is running latest firmware, monitoring is enabled via COM port connected to my laptop.

Initial configuration was done using setup wizard. I think I did everything right, but for some reason i cannot access Internet.

Can someone guide me, please, because i am out of ideas. And yeah, you can treat me like an idiot :)
Thank you in advance.
Kirill.

Can you associate to the AP?
If yes, can you obtain an IP address from DHCP?
If no, can you access Internet with a static IP?
Is the cable modem duplicating some services you are trying to run from the AP?

Type in 'show log' and look for any error messages.
