HP iLO 2 with Windows 7 (Internet Explorer 8)
« on: December 06, 2010, 11:34:32 PM »
I had an issue today with an iLO 2 built into an HP DL360 server where I couldn't get the integrated remote console to launch properly on a Windows 7 ( Internet Explorer 8 ) laptop. I also had issues trying to replicate the problem on a different Windows 7 desktop. The integrated remote console would launch but immediately hang without drawing the screen.

I found that the iLO 2 was running firmware 1.77 and so I downloaded and applied firmware 2.01 and bingo problem solved!

I'm guessing that there's probably some compatibility issue with the older ActiveX software that get's installed and the newer versions of Internet Explorer or maybe even Windows 7.

Cheers!
