My guess is that every now and then there are other users who forgot how they set snmp v1/v2 the last time, and suddenly need to do it again. Avaya's documentation is somewhat murky on the subject, it seems as if the writers presume that everyone is using snmp-v3 these days.
Anyway, from a blank config this is what you need to set the communiy readonlystring for RO and readwritestring for RW. No more looking at the documentation trying to understand what they write... :-D
