3850 interface going to DOWN state
« on: July 08, 2014, 01:38:35 PM »
Greetings all,
I am trying to determine if I have an issue with my 3850 or with a service provider switch.  The interface that I connect to the server provider switch with at layer 2 is randomly going into a down state.  This is the only interface on the switch that goes to down state, all other interfaces are showing UP.  Has anyone else seen an issue with interfaces going down for some reason other than the interface being unplugged, switch restarted, or interface downed via command?  This is just an access port so no LACP/etherchannel...
Thx in advance for any help!  Cheers!

Ziggy

Hi Ziggy,

I would check your interface statistics to see if you are seeing a high number of errors etc but it does sound like the issue is with your service provider?

Stupid question but did you try to change your RJ cable?
